Optimization of fodder yeast production using air enriched by oxygen. II. Economic optimization.Peer-reviewed article

K. EDERER, F. MADRON, F. ŠTROS

In the first part of this study (1) a simplified mathematical model of a continuous culture of the yeast Candida utilis on synthetic ethanol was described. The effect of oxygen concentration in an aeration gas on the specific production was observed. The results obtained served to an estimation of a volume of the fermenter which was necessary to achieve the desired capacity. In the second part of the article economic consequences of the effect of different oxygen concentrations in an aeration medium during yeast cultivation on synthetic ethanol are discussed.
