Determination of ammonia nitrogen and phosphates by a single two - stage titration.Peer-reviewed article

A new, time - saving titration method has been developed for the determination of nitrogen and phosphates in nutritive combinations and their solutions used in fermentation processes. Nitrogen is determined by formol titration for tetrabromphenolphtalein and thymolphtalein. In the subsequent stage P₂O₅ is determined by titration in the presence of CaCl₂. An empirical formula is required for calculating the amount of  P₂O₅.
