The article deals with the results achieved with a wort aerator installed in a brewery using a closed cycle cooling scheme. It has been found that without an additional aeration the closed cooling scheme affects very unfavourably the fermentation which is retarded through the shortage of oxygen. If the aerator is suitably incorporated in the pipeline it maintains optimum oxygen concentration in the wort with minimum air consumption. The described installation has proven its efficiency and meets the requirements of modern breweries.
