A new time - saving method has been developed for the determination of contaminating yeast of the Pichia, Hansenula, Torulopsis, Candida and Klöckera families. The method is based upon the use of a microscope with the phase contrast attachment. The attachment permints the yeast of the mentioned families to be easily identified, since they turn reddish of bluish.
