The article deals with two methods which can be applied for the determination of nucleic acids in fodder yeast grown on hydrocarbon substrates. The strain used for experiments was C. lipolytica grown in a mineral medium. The spectrographic method can be recommended for routine inspection, as well as for following relative changes in the percentage of nucleic acids in yeast, whereas colorimetric methods should be used for accurate analyses and identification of various acids present in the yeast.
