Spent grain separators.Peer-reviewed article

The article deals with the efficiency of separators developed for removing spent grain from extracts. The losses of extract calculated by the authors theoretically for a new separation station are compared with the results of accurate measurements. Theoretical losses for 2.8 to 1.2 %. Three/stage separation reduces them to 0.54-0.14 %. Actual losses after two/stage separation in disc-type, sedimentation separators were in the 1.7-2.1 range.
