The article deals with a microbiologic method which has been developed for the evaluation of the efficiency of synthetic desthiobiotin used for making baker's yeast. Experiments have carried out with baker's yeast in synthetic medium and it has been that synthetic desthiobiotin is a very good precursor of biotin. Its efficiency as compared with biotin is as high as 50%.
