Development and prospects of immobilized biosystems.Peer-reviewed article

V. JIRKŮ, G. BASAŘOVA

Immobilization of large biosystems has been expanding at a rapid rate for nearly a decade. In this connection, the article is a comprehensive introduction into experimental and theoretical developments. Several topics reviewed here proceeds from an introduction to the discussion of basic aspects of biosystems immobilization to the chapter introducing immobilization techniques. The article also includes a survey of physiological, biochemical and cytological alternations of immobilized cells and organelles as well as an overview of the immobilized non-microbial populations.
