The application of immobilized enzymes can be divided into three groups. First group comprises medical applications. Here both beads and an immobilization technique must no have toxic effect. Second group comprises applications in analytical chemistry. The main requirement is given on the accuracy and the fast response. Therefore, the significant factor is a diffusion of substrate to the active center of the enzyme. Into third group belongs industrial applications of immobilized enzymes for a conversion of various substrates. Here economic factors are emphasized. The applications for stereospecific synthesis of amino acids, production of 6-aminopenicillanic acid, fructose syrup, glucose syrup are described.
