Dew point control in pneumatic malting plants making green malt.Peer-reviewed article

    J. BADA

    Kvasny Prum. 1962; 8(10): 217-219 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1962034

The author describes a genuine, simple means introduced by a French firm to effect the dew point in malt houses. In principle i tis noting more than cavities in concrete walls and ceilings. These cavities reduce the costs of buildings and provide an efficient way for controlling the temperature of walls by feeding warm air into them. The scheme should be applied to pneumatic malting plants, where germinating chambers should have walls and ceilings with cavities.(In Slovak, English summary only)

Some problems of turbidity of bottled wine.Peer-reviewed article

    V. BENEŠ

    Kvasny Prum. 1962; 8(10): 225-229 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1962035

The article deals with various kinds of turbidity occurring in bottled wine, with their classification, causes, chemical nature and effective preventive means. Theoretical fundamentals of the so called physical turbidities are discussed in detail special attention being paid to turbidity caused by proteins. Properties of lyophilic and lyophobic colloids are described and conditions for their equilibrium specified, since such an equilibrium is and essential factor securing the stability of bottled wine.(In Czech, English summary only)
