Application of the "Destila" diatomite filters for clarification of beer.Peer-reviewed article

Production scale experiments with a pilot installation employing the "Destila" diatomite filters confirm their suitability for beer clarifying operations The efficiency and through flow of the filters are very satisfactory. The best results, i. e. optimum biological stability and sparkling clarity were obtained with a mixture containing 40 % of the Hyflo S. c. diatomite and 60 % of local diatomite of F2 grade. Beer clarified in diatomite filtering installation surpasses beer treated in conventional ways.
