Quality of floor malt.Peer-reviewed article

M. RŮŽIČKA

The author analyses some problems of floor and pneumatic malting and arrives at the conclusion that in developing new malting methods more attention should be paid to favourable factors affecting positively the germination process and quality of floor malt. Pneumatic malting is characterized by high power consumption and is consequently expensive. The author recommends to abstract heat by underfloor cooling systems and suggests several other improvements which can modernize existing malting floors.
