The authors describe the design and fiction of a new automatic analyzer of amino acids which has recently been developed inCzechoslovakia. The 6020 analyzer [ under this designation it has been placed on the market] has an outstanding discriminating capacity demonstrated in a series of tests, in which 17 amino acids were identified from their mixture by means of ion exchangers and fractionation of free amino acids can be recommended as an optimum technique for analyzing samples of malt, wort, sweet wort, and beer, as well as samples of acid hydrolysates of components causing turbidity of beer. This technique ensures very good reproducibility.
