The removing of incrustation for the evaporators in distilleries.Peer-reviewed article

J. BARTA, K. ANTONY, M. HRDÝ, M. ROSA

For the distilleries, in which the spirit is made of molasses the authors suggested removing of incrustation by means of boiling water-solution of lactic acid. They use for the purpose sewage material containing 30 - 50 % of lactic acid. The boilers are treated with boiling acid diluted to 3,5 % solution, the time of treating one up to tree hours. After this time the incrustation loosens and falls away from the wall of evaporator. When the surface of the wall is rough, the layer of incrusted matter must be removed immediately, for after drying it becomes hard again.
