Slovakiahas its own laboratory for pure yeast cultures in Bratislava. The laboratory supplies breweries with pure pitching yeast and serves also various research institute and high schools. It maintains under standard conditions a collection of approximately 60 types of pure brewing yeasts divided in 4 groups. The laboratory cultivates also many other yeast microbes for scientific institutes. This collection includes both pathogenic and non pathogenic sorts of various origins. Pure yeast cultures for wine industry, distilleries and yeast factories are also available. The recent addition to the collections are fungi of various species.(In Slovak, English summary only)
