The Economic department of the Research Institute of Brewing and Malting Industries has studied ways, how to improve the organization of transport and reduce transport costs of barley, malt and beer by introducing modern programming methods. The results of the research work indicate, that with barley and malt linear programming can be introduced without any preparatory steps, since existing conditions permit such a measure, whereas for beer deliveries it is necessary prior to application to elaborate suitable methodics. General conclusions of the article confirm, that the application of modern mathematical methods in brewing and malting industries is overdue. They can shorten substantially transport routes and thus costs.
