So far sewage waters from the brewery were purified in a system of fishponds, the total area of which was 28 ha. Now the ponds have been replaced by stabilizing basins, since the amount of sewage waters is rapidly growing owing to the rising production of beer which at present is practically twice as high as it used to be some time ago. the basins occupy 27 haand must daily purify in average 2178 m3of sewage waters characterized by BOD5 787 mg/1l. The efficiency of basins in sommer months is 99,9 % and drops in winter months to 95 %. A comparatively very high evaporation rate, i.e. 8 l/m2 contributes to the mentioned outstanding efficiency. Some10 ha of the area of basins will be soon used again for fish rearing
