Comprehensive polyfactorial experiments were carried out in 1973 - 1975 to study the effects of various kinds and amounts of nitrogen fertilizers, used together with constant amounts of phosphoric and potash manures, upon the properties of the following varieties of spring barley: Favorit, Ametyst and Elgína. Nitrogen fertilizers were represented by ammonia salpetre with limestone and urea and the rates were N50, N75 and N100. The author evaluates the results of experiments analyzing effects of nitrogen rates under given agronomic and ecologic conditions upon the contents of albumins, starch and extract. Mechanical properties of barley are specified for reach year of the mentioned period, too. Experiments confirm, that genetic, fixed properties of many varieties of spring barely can be affected by agronomic and ecologic conditions, as well as by fertilizing practice.
