Statistical investigations confirm, that for routine determination of quinine, present in non-alcoholic beverages, the fluorometric method can be recommended as a very sensitive and specific one, giving reasonably accurate results and requiring little time. As far as the determination of caffeine is concerned, titration should be preferred to photemetric method, since it provides more reliable data and saves time. Theobromine can be best determined by applying a gravmetric method. For exact results, it is, of course, necessary to use partition chromatography.
