The article deals with the properties of the DMA apparatus which is used in laboratories to measure the density of sweet wort. Though the measurements require more time than operations performed with conventional instruments, they on the other hand - provide very reliable and accurate information. Besides, all measurements are carried out automatically without any assistance by qualified workers and data need not be calculated from the mass enclosed in a density bottle. The DMA apparatus is rather expensive and should be consequently used mainly in central laboratories.
