The sterility of compressed air has a principal effect in the course of biosynthetic processes where enzymes, amino acids, antibiotics and hormones are produced. Following filter materials were tested: Aerotube CERG 03105, a sheet of glass microfibers FV and the material PC-S. The penetration of oil aerosol, polydispersed aerosol of crystalline NaCl and atmospheric air though the mentioned materials was studied. On a base of the results obtained of procedure for the air filtration suitable for fermentation processes was elaborated. When the inland material FV was used the classification of class V with the first degree of purity was achieved. This procedure replaced the imported filtration candles.
