In this article the survey of our knowledge on the structure of the eukaryotic genome is presented. The following components of the eukaryotic genome are characterized: repeated groups of genes, gene families, dispersed genes, introns, exons, spacers, Alu sequences, pseudogenes, processed genes, transposable elements, structural genes coding for immunoglobulins.
