Ethanol determination in beer with biosensor.Peer-reviewed article

J. ©VITEL, O. ČURILLA

The ethanol biosensor was based on a polarographic oxygen electrode covered with cells Gluconobacter oxydans immobilised in gelatine. The working range of sensor was 0-0.003 % (vol.), determination of one sample takes 5 minutes. The biosensor undergoes succesive inactivation. Two days after preparation biosensor is suitable for accurate measurement. The results of ethanol measurements with biosensor are in agreement with ethanol determination with gas chromatograph.
