K. KROFTA, J. ČEPIČKA, J. KUBÍČEK

Czech hybrid varieties Bor, Sládek and Premiant have been started to be cultivated on large scale since the middle of nineties as response to sales crisis of soft aromatic hops. New varieties rank among aromatic and bitter hops. The composition of hop resins and essential oil give preconditions for their good using in breweries. Trial brews were carried out in both semipilot-plant and pilot-plant scale. Trial brews have demonstrated, that Czech hybrid varieties are suitable for direct popping in both breweries with classical fermentation technology and fermentation technology in CCT. The comparison with many foreign varieties have also met with favourable response.
