The objective selection of preferred varieties is necessary to make on the basic of all accessible information and with respect to prosperity of a grower. Nowadays the area distribution of varieties from the viewpoint of technological indicators is not performed. On the basic of agronomy traits obtained is CISTA (Central Institute of Supervising and Testing in Agriculture) it is however possible to perform the area distribution. The relationship between yield and quality is important, for maltster it is however more significant the relationship between yield of plump grain and quality. Fungiod disease, resistance and response of varieties to fungicide...
The using of new Czech hybrid varieties of hops in brewing industry.Peer-reviewed article

Kvasny Prum. 1999; 45(7-8): 187-190 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1999014
Czech hybrid varieties Bor, Sládek and Premiant have been started to be cultivated on large scale since the middle of nineties as response to sales crisis of soft aromatic hops. New varieties rank among aromatic and bitter hops. The composition of hop resins and essential oil give preconditions for their good using in breweries. Trial brews were carried out in both semipilot-plant and pilot-plant scale. Trial brews have demonstrated, that Czech hybrid varieties are suitable for direct popping in both breweries with classical fermentation technology and fermentation technology in CCT. The comparison with many foreign varieties have also met with favourable...
The determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls in beer.Peer-reviewed article

Kvasny Prum. 1999; 45(7-8): 190-192 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1999015
he method has been developed, which enables within one extractive step the determination both polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls in beer. The procedure involves the description of beer ample extraction into nonpolar solvent with solving of problems of very stabile emulsion and high of obtained extract. Further there are reported chromatographic conditions for analysis of nine PAH (benzo(a)antracene, benzo(b)flouranthene, benzo(k)flouranthene, chrysene, dibenzo(a,h)antracene, benzo(a)pyrene, indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, dibenzo(a,i)pyrene and dibenzo(a,h)pyrene) by means of the method of high-performance liquid chromatography...
The calculation of energy consumption during production of anhydrous alcohol from grain.Peer-reviewed article
P. ŠIMŮNEK
Kvasny Prum. 1999; 45(7-8): 192-194 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1999016
Nowadays the significance of fermenting spring utilization is increasing is non-food branches, particularly as admixtures into propellants. For the assessment of advantage such an application is necessary to compare energy demands of spirit production with energy developed by its combustion in an ignition engine. During tests carried out with the utilization so called cold non-pressure procedure in school alcohol distillery in Hohenheim (BRD) research workers succeeded in achieving the consumption 7,58MJ per 1 liter ethanol. The result value achieved 35 % of the heat of combustion of 1 liter ethanol. This balance is in discrepancy with a line of published...
