The article deals with the results of research works, which have been carried out to assess principal physical and chemical properties of polymers of polyesters type represented by a preparation, called Sorsilen. Sorsilen is produced by reprecipitating polyethylene terephtalate from molten caprolactam. Comprehensive experiments covering treatment of beer with Sorsilen show that the polymer can sorb polymerized polyphenols more intensively than simple ones. Experiments also disclosed the properties of a number  of polymer samples produced by using different processing methods. By changing appropriately processing technology it is easy to give the preparation...

Microorganisms important for malting industry. Part II. Changes of barley microflora taking place in storming and malting periods.Peer-reviewed article

K. KOSAŘ

Kvasny Prum. 1979; 25(10): 221-224 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1979033

In the first part of this study the author specified factors bearing upon the microflora of barley generally. The present article deals with kinds typical for barley during storing period, as well as with the microflora of malt and its changes in individual phases of malting process.(In Czech, English summary only)

Effect of mechanized grape harvest upon the quality of wine.Peer-reviewed article

Kvasny Prum. 1979; 25(10): 224-226 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1979034

Mechanization of grape harvest is an important step towards modern, rationalized viticulture. Experience so far acquired with the Müller-Thurgau variety confirms that as far as the quality of wine is concerned harvesting method, i. e. mechanized or hand harvesting, makes no difference. Must from hand harvested grapes contains 27 % of tannin matter as compared with only 13 % in must from mechanically harvested ones, but this has no effect on the quality and taste of wine.(In Slovak, English summary only)
