Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(6): 161-164 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988023

The determination of β-glucanase activity using tablet S-test Lichenase that contains the chromolytic (1->3)(1->4)-β-D-glucan (the modified lichenat isolated from Cetraria islandica), microcrystalline cellulose and further compounds was verified. The developed procedure was compared with the standard method based on 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid. The accuracy of the determination of β-glucanase activity from 10 repeated determinations using the same mat extract was 1,8 %. The accuracy on the enzyme activity determination using S-test as well as the accuracy of malt extraction were 3,7 %.(In Slovak, English summary only)

Further experience with the application of biosorbents in grape must fermentation under unfavourable fermentation conditions.Peer-reviewed article

E. MINÁRIK, O. JUNGOVÁ

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(6): 164-167 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988024

Yeast ghosts and microcrystalline cellulose guarantee an essential decrease of full elimination of inhibiting effect of fungicide residues on yeasts in the course of fermentation of grape must. The fermentation start is speeded up; the course of fermentation is proceeding smoothly, without delay and more completely compared with must containing fungicide residues but no biosorbents. Higher alcohol content, lower residual sugar and volatil acid concentrations in the wine are the result of the application of biosorbents. The importance of biosorbents in the fermentation of must under unfavourable fermentation conditions is underline.(In Slovak, English...

Continuous production of coproporphyrin with immobilized yeasts and product isolation.Peer-reviewed article

P. KOTAL, J. ©PERL, M. JIRSA, V. KORDA, M. KAHLER

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(6): 168-172 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988025

A procedure of the biotechnological production and isolation of coproporphyrin is described. The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiea (RIBM-75) was used for porphyrin production. The yeasts were immobilized in 3 % alginate gel and filled in the continuous reactor. Coproporphyrin was continuously produced in the medium containing sources of carbon and nitrogen (glucose and urea). The simple apparatus permitted a long time production with one filing of the reactor (about 30 days). Porphyrins were isolated and concentrated from the medium using and extraction liquid-solid phase (Separon six C18) with a high yield. After extraction porphyrins were esterified...

Control of l-lysine biosynthesis with chromogene mutants Brevibacterium species M-27.Peer-reviewed article

F. SMÉKAL, H. RY©ÁNOVÁ, M. KONÍČKOVÁ-RADOCHOVÁ, J. KONÍČEK

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(6): 172-173 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988026

Principal factors of the control of L.lysine biosynthesis, with chromogene mutants of Brevibacterium species, are the rates of carbon source utilization and the quantity of nitrogen source in the fermentation medium. After an optimalization of the fermentation process the L-lysine production in a range of 43 to 49 g.l-1 in 96 hours with the conversion of 45 to 49 % can be achieved.(In Czech, English summary only)

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(6): 173-175 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988027

A review about the new machine equipment used in the kiln of the malting house in Kroměříľ is given. The technical and technological properties of the kiln as well as its main parameters are described. At the end a brief evaluation of the machine tests is made.(In Czech, English summary only)
