The properties of two basic types of Czech Caofrig kieselguhrs were compared with those of Celite in model filtration tests; rough kieselguhr F 60 with that of HSC, fine kieselguhr F 4 with that of FC-E. The better results obtained with Celite can also be achieved with Calofrig kieselguhr under conditions of its suitable application. The lower wet volume of F 60 kieselguhr can be eliminated using of 30 % higher weight in the base layer in comparison to HSC. In case of beers with good filtration properties the Czech kieselguhrs permit to achieve the same results as those with Celite kieselguhr. In case of beers with worse filtration properties the use...

Kvasny Prum. 1990; 36(3): 70-72 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1990009
The application of active dry yeasts for a production of sparkling wines were tested in plant-scale experiments using the discontinuous tank fermentation. Two preparatesViakvas TV and Viakvas SPV from Food Fabrik Trebišov and the foreign preparate Hefix 2000 (fa Erbslöh Giesenheim) were tested. The secondary fermentations inoculated with those preparates permitted to achieve on optimum fermentation time. Good chemical as well as sensorial properties were achieved with final sparkling wines.(In Slovak, English summary only)
