Determination of Alcohol Yield of Triticale.Peer-reviewed article

In the article are presented yields of alcohol determinated by laboratory fermentative tests of representative varieties and newly selected triticale. For starch hydrolysis were used commercial enzymatic preparates, and therefore it was possible made the experiment by so called cold pressure-free way. Yields of alcohol were for individua! samples demonstrably different. The highest yield had variety Ring (40,69 litres a.a./l00kg dry matter). The content of starch in corn was not for alcohol yield decisive. In the article is presented a survey of whirlpools, most used equipments for separation of sludges from heat wort and examples of visualisation of streaming and whirls in dependence of time. For the evaluation of experimental activity done on whirlpools with different geometry, was by means of dimensionless analysis devoloped a new critery, describing an influence of geometry and hydrodynamic for efficiency of sludge separation.
