Influence of phosphate on antibiotics biosynthesis.Peer-reviewed article

N. MARČANOVÁ, P. PILÁT

The article summarizes the present knowledge about the phosphate effects on the secondary metabolites biosynthesis, above all antibiotics. From the point of view of general kinetics both the analysis of processes mentioned and the differentiation to the growth and production phases are made. The relation between those phases and its beeing. influence by the phosphate level are discussed. According to literature data und our results the work endeavours to bring the survey about the metodology and the effects on the parts of the entire antibiotics producers metabolism in connection with the effect of phosphorus level in the medium and cells. The effect of phosphate is presented as a complex mechanism included both the repression of enzyme production systems and the direct activity inhibition of already acting enzymes.
