The most frequent contamination in fodder yeast production are bacteria and yeasts. The contamination by molds can be neglected. According to published results, the effect of bacterial contamination in fodder yeast production from petrochemical raw material can manifest itself by one of the following manners: Bacteria contaminated and their metabolites resp., have inhibitory or stimulatory effect on yeasts or are without any effect. The present results of the studies of bacterial contamination during continuous production of fodder yeast from synthetic ethanol show that bacteria have no unsuitable effect on economic parameters of the culture. From the standpoint of technology the greater problem seems to be a contamination with wild yeasts. The contaminated yeast can accumulate in the fermenter under the certain conditions. It is probable that the majority of yeast contaminants has worse growth characteristics with respect to ethanol in comparison the production strain. This is unsuitable from the standpoint of hygiene since some of bacterial be said about yeast contaminants. From this follows and elimination of these infections in the fodder yeast production.
