The article contains principal information about the new construction of malt kiln with two fences according to M. Růžička, using the natural draught. It is supplied with indirect combined heating by means of flue gas and low pressure steam. Instead of the commonly used fire place there is Roučka9s vertical boiler and air stove supplied with pile shaped air heater with large heating surface offering minimal resistance to the flow air. The heat supplied to water is utilized for the malt kiln and the air under the grade. The results of commercial tests as well as the experinces in the factories have shown, that the new type of malt kiln meets all technological requirements as to its high efficiency and low heat consumption. The effect is at least by 25 % higher, than in the case of the newest types of air stove malt kilns and reaches 180 kg of malt from 1 m2 of fence within 24 hours. The heat consumption amounts about 100 000 kcal for 100 kg of malt.
