Utilization of waste water from pressure gas works for producing yeast proteins.Peer-reviewed article

J. BÁRTA

To reduce substantially the costs of producing yeast proteins experiments were made with replacing conventional nutritive salts with waste water from pressure gas works. Since the experiments were very successful the method has been introduced on a production scale. Now after one year9s experience the results can be duly evaluated. No deterioration of the quality of the final product was observed. The fermentation was regular without any signs of disturbance. The nutritive nitrogenous salts have been replaced successfully with ammonia containing waste water also at a plant making bakery yeast.
