Combined malting boxes represent a system which requires comparatively low investment can be easily adapted for automatic operation and ensures good quality of malt. Continuous malting plant of SATURN system incorporating two turning rings requires large quantities of barley and its uniform quality. As far its reliability is concerned, it is less reliable than combined malting boxes. Both systems outlined in the article allow application of growth stimulators. In combined boxes steeping can be repeated.
