Mohnopumps in brewing.Peer-reviewed article

The Mohnopumps were significantly wide-spread in the industry of Federal Republic of Germany during last 30 years. The author discussed the peculiarities of a construction and a function of these pumps that permit their versatile utilization for a variety of substrates, operation conditions and pumping possibilities. The experencies from a successful application of mohnopumps in breweries for a transport of wort, hopped wort, rough sediments, spent grains, wet grist, yeasts and beer are summarized in the second part of the article. These pumps are very suitable for an automatic dosage of yeasts into the stream of hopped wort, mixing, transport and dosage of the mixture of spent grains with kieselguhr waste into tank cars etc.
