Practical experience with new-built hop pelletization plant of cooperative Chmelařství Žatec.Peer-reviewed article

Z. ŠAUER

First results from several months' lasting production operation of pellets, the type 90 and 45 (firm Chmelařství, cooperative Žatec), enabled the judgement of technical equipment, technological procedures and process balance. Machinery equipment, located in an architectonically modem and effectively constructed building, enables through its concept hop treatment by the latest technological procedures under minimal occupation of labour. The working capacity corresponds to contemporary conditions and it is reckogned with an increasing tendency with the type 45. Analytical control tracking bitter substances balance points to a considerate course of' hop treatment in the course of production process of both products. Mass yield of' the type 45, informing about the degree of concentration, reaches at the most required conductometric value (C.V.) 6 up to 6,5% Wt. in a final product 45 up to 55% and C.V. yield 94 up to 96%. There are given reasons for the importance of perfect storage for full preservation of pellet brewery value and ecologically favourable putting into cartons, making an automatic dosage in brewhouse possible.
