Effects of the preceding crop upon the yield of spring brewing and quality of malt were studied two years in succession, viz. in 1974 and 1975 to find out, what kind of crop, i.e. cereals or row crops, provide better condition for barley. Experimental malting was carried out in a micromalting plant. Statistical methods were applied to analyze experimental data, as well as their scatter, and the results confirm, that in all barley growing districts yields are higher if barley is sown after a row crop. Cereals not only reduce yields, but also have negative effects upon the quality of malt. The percentage of albumins is higher, the amount of malt extract...
Causes of insufficient keeping quality of non-alcoholic beverage and some remedies.Peer-reviewed article
K. TOMÁŠEK
Kvasny Prum. 1976; 22(8): 185-187 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1976026
The article deals with factors responsible for insufficient keeping quality of non-alcoholic beverages and with efficient remedies. It is practically possible to extend the storage period to 1 month and event more. There are several ways how to improve the situation, viz.: desactivation of microorganisms by pasteurization, irradiation or application of conserving agents.(In Slovak, English summary only)
