The steeping technology with the exhaustion of carbon dioxide is described. Even if there is recommended a regular exhaustion of CO2 in about two hours intervals in a literature, some malt houses have introduced a controlled exhaustion of CO2 through the conical part of the steeping tank according to the air temperature in a steeping room. The programme of the control of CO2 exhaustion was corrected with respect to the experimentally determined CO2 concentrations. The controlled CO2 exhaustion can diminish the storage wastes.(In Czech, English summary only)
Application of HPLC with ion exchanger in determination of basic components of wine.Peer-reviewed article

The determination of organic acids, saccharides, ethanol, methanol and diethylene glycol in wine using columns, filed with Czechoslovak ion exchanger OSTION is described. After a sample treatment with anion exchanger in the form of carbonate the detection of the above mentioned substances can be made with a differential refractometer. The results proved good properties of the Czechoslovak preparate OSTION in comparison with similar foreign preparates. Further, the analytical results of nine sorts of red and white wines from Czechoslovak and foreign production are described in the article.(In Czech, English summary only)
An application of a mutant Corynebacterium glutamicum sensitive to fluorpyruvate for a preparation of lysine by fermentation in a medium with molasses.Peer-reviewed article

There has been isolated the mutant Corynebacterium glutamicum 9366-EC/100/FP-1, resistant to S-/2-aminoethyl/-L-cysteine, dependent to homoserine and sensitive to fluorpyruvate, producing 49.5 g/l lysine in a medium containing molasses.(In Czech, English summary only)
