Possible energy savings in malt-house..Peer-reviewed article

R. BIENER, W. FELGENTRAEGER

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 1-2 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992001

The saving of electric energy in malt-house using the cross heat exchanger, utilising the heat of condensation from a refrigeration plant for a preheating of kilning air is described. Using this procedure the drop of an electric consumption can be as high as 50 %.(In Czech, English summary only)

Present state of crushing and mashing techniques.Peer-reviewed article

B. KANTELBERG, H. HERRMANN

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 3-5 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992002

Advantages and disadvantages of the dry, wet and conditioned crushing are described. The new equipment of Mitl-Star "Supertech" working under a soft conditioning and having advantages of all above mentioned systems is described, too. Further, the construction of mashing tuns permitting a lower oxygen absorption during the procedure is discussed.(In Czech, English summary only)

New construction of clarifying tun.Peer-reviewed article

B. LENZ, H. HERRMANN

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 6-10 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992003

The modern clarifying tun with a bottom feeding, stiring equipment with double knifes and with a central straining system was constructed. The new tun is compared with that one having an old top feeding using the values of turbidity and oxygen content in the solution.(In Czech, English summary only)

Types of hop boiling procedure from the standpoint of a lowering of energy consumption.Peer-reviewed article

W. FELGENTRAEGER

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 11-14 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992004

A comparison of the energy consumption during the classical low-pressure procedure with a combined energy accumulator, mechanical compression of vapour and the high-pressure hop boiling procedure is described. Advantages and disadvantages of both the systems are described.(In Czech, English summary only)

Cooling in brewery.Peer-reviewed article

W. FELGENTRAEGER

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 14-16 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992005

Brewing refrigeration plants consume the most quantity of electric energy. Therefore, process optimization from the standpoint of power drain peaks is very important. A computer application permits to solve this problem.(In Czech, English summary only)

Calculation of heat transfer area of conical bottom fermenting vessels.Peer-reviewed article

W. FELGENTRAEGER

Kvasny Prum. 1992; 38(1): 17-20 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1992006

The procedure of the calculation of heat transfer area of conical bottom fermenting vessels is described. CK tanks are the unique solution in the field of fermentation of the wort.(In Czech, English summary only)
