The method for simultaneous determination of highmolecular α- and β-g1uconates in beer and in its interproducts were developed. The method comprises: the quantitative precipitation of gluconates with the relative molecular weight above 3000 using ethanol, the differentiation of α- and β-g1uconates by the combination of acidic and enzyme hydrolysis with amyloglucosidase, and the selective determination of produced glucose using enzyme set Bio-La-Test "Oxochrom glucose" (Lachema Brno). Using genetical methods 63 strains were selected. For all these strains the following properties were characterized: the basic genetical, biochemical and physiological properties including ploidity, the sexual type, the growth factor requirements, the sensitivity to antibiotics and cooper, the respiration ability and the killing properties. The killing properties of the wine-making yeasts tested were studied more detailed.(In Slovak, English summary only)

With respect to the lack of measuring and controlling devices for biotechnological processes, the team of researches in the Institute Theoretical Principles of Chemical Techniques,AcademyofSciencesdeveloped a complex solution of the digitally controlled pilot-plant bioreactor. As a result of the two-year development the fully automated equipment has been manufactured.
