Raw materials for fermentation industry.Peer-reviewed article

L. LÍBAL

The authors assesses the raw material base which is or can be in near future available for fermentation industry in Czechoslovakia for biosynthesis of proteins and other microbial processes. He takes into account present situation, as effects of capital investments planned for the  periods of the 6-th, 7-th and 8-th five years plans. The production of feed protein should be based in Czechoslovakia on sulphite waste liquor and synthetic ethanol. Such an utilization of waste liquor and ethanol is in line with the requirements of national economy and sound development of its various industrial branches. Synthetic ethanol can be used - beside in biosynthesis production biological substance - as an excellent substitute of various farm products processed at present. It can contribute as well to their more effective utilization. In combination with sulphite waste liquor it improves the rentability of investments into plants producing feed yeast. Positive results can be expected from processing methan and methanol. From various kinds of farm waste straw is promising, too.
