Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(7): 193-197 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988029

Conditions of the yeast preservation before their separation on filter press and the beer recycling into hot hopped wort are described. From the results obtained on the plant scale the authors recommend the maximum yeast preservation for 2 days at the temperatures below 2 °C. The autolysis and yeast contamination can be limited under these conditions. The filtration of waste yeasts from storage tanks can be made in a mixture with excessive yeasts from fermenting cellar in the ratio 1 to 1 or with the addition of kieselguhr in the quantity of 1500 - 2500 g.m-3. Up to 5% of rest beer being added to hot hopped wort no significant analytical...

Stabilization of 12 % bottled beer Světovar with filter HFN 200 ST.Peer-reviewed article

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(7): 198-201 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988030

12 % beer Světovar was stabilized by filtration on Czechoslovak filter using polyphenols adsorbents Polyclar AT and Czechoslovak preparate Amidap. Also the adsorbent Köstrosorb for nitrogen compounds was used. The results revealed that using polyphenols adsorbents the higher efficiency and lower costs can be achieved. The advantages of polyphenols adsorbents are the fast recovery of investment costs and the saving of exchange using the domestic preparate Amidap. The function of the filter HFN200 STwas verified on the plant scale and beers that were stabilized with both preparates tested were in accordance with th Czechoslovak Standard No. 56 6635.(In...

Water denitrification with immobilized cells of Paracoccus denitrificans.Peer-reviewed article

S. ČI®INSKÁ, V. MATĚJŮ, T. JANOCH

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(7): 202-204 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988031

The water was denitrified with the soil bacterium Paracoccus denitrificans. The cells were chemically immobilized with the water soluble reactive polymer. The denitrifying efficiency of ntive and immobilized cells cultivated under aerobic and anaerobic conditions were compared. Nitrates in the water were reduced by the mean rate of 0,97 mg NO3- per1 g dry weight of mmobilized cells per hour during one month.(In Czech, English summary only)

Biodegradation of wastes from distillation and fermentation industries.Peer-reviewed article

Kvasny Prum. 1988; 34(7): 204-206 | DOI: 10.18832/kp1988032

The production of fodder yeast from distillation slops and from the liquid medium after baker's yeast fermentation as tested during several last years. The best results were achieved with the yeast Trichosporon cutaneum. It was found that the fermentation can be performed without pH control that is significant from both standpoints of the ecology preservation and the saving of sulphuric acid. Also the utilization of distillation slops for the thermophilic methane fermentation was tested. Using this process the COD can be reduced by 55 %. Biogas is produced in the quantity of 20 m3 per m3 of slops and the vitamin B12...
