Gas chromatography plays the significant role in the determination of beer flavours. Sample preparation procedures for extraction, concentration or clean-up are often necessary before gas chromatographic determination. A lot of sample preparation techniques havebeen introduced in the past two decades and these procedures can successfully replace classical methods. These procedures includeoff-line and on-line methods and they are based on exhaustive extraction as well as equilibrium techniques. This study is focused onnew sample preparation method called MEPS (Microextraction by Packed Sorbent) and its possible use in brewing...

This article sets as its goal the provision of an economic assessment of the construction of a microbrewery in an already established and working restaurant. The brewery will have an expected annual production of 700 hl and besides on its own premises, its production will also be sold in PET bottles. The whole investment will be 100 % financed with a loan. The quotes of companies which build microbreweries were used for the base data. This article sets as its goal the provision of an economic assessment of the construction of a microbrewery in an already established and working restaurant. Kvasny Prum. 2011; 57(9): 337-344 | DOI: 10.18832/kp2011038

In 2010 almost all studied varieties reached the value of germination energy 3 weeks after achieving full maturity higher than 85 %. Only two varieties (Aksamit, Marthe) had the value of germination energy lower than 85 %. In following weeks the value of germination energy declined in some varieties. The decline in the values of germination energy indicates that grain of some varieties was heavily affected by sprout damage during harvest. In 2010 problem with sprout damage was more frequent compared to previous years. The varieties differed considerably in the intensity of germination characterized by germination rate and index. In the harvest year...
