Crossings aimed at breeding of new dwarf hop progenies were carried out within the international EUREKA project. Totally 22,327 genotypes were obtained. After the assessment lasting for four years twelve perspective genotypes entered the registration trials in Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture. The most efficient are genotypes N11 and N12 with alpha bitter acids contents of 8.85, resp. 7.71% and yield of 1.75 t/ha, resp. 1.3 t/ha. The article describes the history of brewing in the Silesian Towns Bílovec and Velké Albrechtice in the time period from the first citation till finish of the brewing and malt production. The brewer citizens produced beer in theirs houses, during the process of centralization the production of beer transferred into one citizen brewery located in country yard near the castle in the town. Later was constructed the brewery and malt plant transferred in neighbor city Velké Albrechtice, where new brewery was constructed. The article describes further the construction and technological development.
